Keshubhai floats Gujarat Parivartan Party

BJP’s first Chief Minister in Gujarat, Keshubhai Patel on Monday announced the formation of a new party headed by him, with the objective of ‘restoring’ the ‘asmita’ (pride) of the State alleged to have been withered away in the Narendra Modi regime. Patel, who had snapped his six-decade-old ties with the BJP on Saturday, named the new party as “Gujarat Parivartan Party” after day-long consultations with several former BJP leaders who had either left the party or got expelled from it over the last few years.
