June contraction in industrial output adds to economic woes

The industrial output for June contracted 1.8 per cent, disappointing finance minister P Chidambaram, who said that the production will revive if there are new investments in the demand-creating industries and the government would work towards removing supply-side constraints in both manufacturing and exports to boost the economy.
