The CPI(Maoist) has expelled its top Orissa leader, Sabyasachi Panda, saying he betrayed the group and the “great cause of the toiling masses”. The 43-year-old Panda, who has a bounty of Rs 20 lakh on his head, was the secretary of the Orissa State Organising Committee of the Maoists and operated in Rayagada, Gajapati, Kandhamal and Ganjam districts.
