No private member's bill passed in 42 years, 278 pending in LS
Even as the country celebrated the 66th Independence Day, one aspect of the world’s largest democracy remains a jarring note: failure of Parliament to allow adequate space in legislation-making to the ordinary MPs. Parliament data accessed by The Indian Express shows that not even a single Bill piloted by a Lok Sabha member in his individual capacity has been passed in over 42 years.
