Mamata refuses to discuss FDI at UPA meeting
In a setback to the government's plan to ease foreign investment rules for multi-brand retail and civil aviation, Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday refused to discuss the issue at the UPA coordination committee meeting, citing protocol. The West Bengal chief minister, who returned to the meeting of the coalition partners, told the gathering that according to the rules of engagement, allies should be alerted in advance about any issue that is put on the agenda.
