Azad Maidan redux: N-E cops attacked

Tuesday's 12-hour shutdown in Assam saw a rerun of the violence at Mumbai's Azad Maidan on August 11 as miscreants targeted police and mediapersons. More than 20 policemen and six mediapersons were injured. Bandh supporters set a newspaper-carrying van and a police jeep on fire in north-central Assam.
