Kerala: Not a paradise for outsiders

Against the background of the strife in Assam, the threat allegedly issued on August 17 by Islamists to a group of Assamese migrant workers in Manjeri in Kerala’s Muslim-majority Malappuram district was an isolated but serious incident. It was an example of politico-religious extremism, which is fast striking roots in Kerala prompting the National Investigation Agency to theorise that ‘God’s Own Country’ is the fountainhead of terror in India.
