BJP alleges multicrore irrigation scam in Marathwada region

The BJP’s Maharashtra unit on Wednesday alleged another irrigation scam in the State, this time in the water-starved Marathwada region. Babanrao Lonikar, the former BJP MLA from Partur in Jalna district has filed a public interest litigation petition with the Aurangabad Bench of the Bombay High Court, seeking investigation of an alleged multicrore scam involving 11 barrages across the Godavari whose costs have escalated to Rs. 2,452 crore.
