Trial against Chidambaram to start on Nov 7

Despite the best of efforts by Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram, the Madras High Court on Thursday commenced hearing an election petition filed against him by Raja Kannappan of the AIADMK. Kannappan challenged the result of the 2009 Lok Sabha election from Sivaganga parliamentary constituency in Tamil Nadu which he lost by a whisker to Chidambaram.
