Gujarat: Two Muslim councillors dump Cong for BJP

Days after its Gandhinagar Mayor along with two other councillors defected to the BJP, two Muslim Congress councillors in the Junagadh Municipal Corporation (JMC) joined the saffron party on Monday, pushing up the latter’s tally to 19 in the 51-seat civic body. The Congress now has 28 councillors in the JMC while the rest four are either Independents or from smaller parties.
