7 rounds, 45% unsold: Spectrum bids fall flat
NEW DELHI: The second-generation (2G) spectrum auction drew a muted response from the five mobilephone firms participating in the sale process, and looks set to be a damp squib after close to half the airwaves on offer remained unsold after seven rounds of bidding on Monday, validating fears that the reserve price set by the government was too high.
