Gujarat 2012: Congress has a negative image

Few people will recollect that the electoral debate on the battle for Gujarat had begun a full six months before the notification of the poll. Back in March, an odd by-poll win for the Congress in Gujarat had drawn superlative adjectives. The superlatives were in stark contrast to the mild manner in which much of the Delhi media narrative has glossed over the Congress’s rout in the Andhra Pradesh by-poll, despite the fact that the State sends the highest number of Congress MPs to New Delhi.
