The rise of the Hindu caricature

On December 6, 1992 the Babri Masjid was brought down by young Hindu men, who had gathered from all over India to do "kar seva".  While the elders of the BJP and the VHP looked across from the special viewing gallery constructed for the observation of the "kar seva," young men with pick-axes went on what seemed a calculated and concerted act of vandalism and destruction.
