SP and BSP up the ante on job quota

It was the SP-BSP combine that helped the UPA government win the FDI vote in Parliament last week. But these two rivals have now put the government in a fix as it is now faced with another major challenge: the Bill to provide quota for SC/STs in government job promotions. BSP chief Mayawati issued an ultimatum to the government on Monday that she would be forced to 'take a tough stand' if the Bill is not passed in the next two or three days.
