EC raps Govt for LPG poll bait

The Election Commission of India has taken serious view of the Government’s announcement to increase the cap on subsidised LPG cylinders ahead of the Gujarat Assembly polls and asked it to stall any such move. Gujarat goes to poll in two phases beginning this week and the model code of conduct prevents the Government from announcing any decision that could influence voters.
