Cong's tradition of deception and rank duplicity

There should be no surprise that the Congress-led UPA Government won the debate over foreign direct investment in multi-brand retail on the strength of numbers which it garnered in its support. Nor should there be any surprise about the deals that the Congress was willing to strike behind the curtains with some of its allies like the DMK, who were as bitterly opposed to the FDI issue as the majority of Opposition parties.
