Centre rejects SP’s demand for Muslim reservation in jobs

Soon after the Rajya Sabha passed a bill to provide quota in promotions for SC, ST public servants — a legislation pushed hard by BSP chief Mayawati — the Centre dismissed the demand of her rival, SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav, for similar reservation for Muslims.
