NEW DELHI: Police brutality against media persons came in for sharp criticism from all quarters, including government and industry bodies. While the News Broadcasters Association (NBA) criticized the police action, saying media personnel and their equipment were specifically targeted, Press Council of India chief Markandey Katju described it as a flagrant attack on democracy.
