Massive deployment of riot police and paramilitary jawans, barricades and road blockade turned Central Delhi into a veritable war zone on Monday as a clueless Government grappled to deal with the growing public protest against the brutal gang-rape of the 23-year-old paramedical student. The knee-jerk reaction to throttle the voice of protest threw the road traffic out of gear on Monday too. With nine Metro stations closed, office goers, students and others had to walk miles to reach their destination.
