UPA tries to stifle, not address, legitimate concerns

Days after huge street protests erupted in Delhi and across the country in response to the brutal gang rape of a 23-year-old student, the Congress-led UPA Government remains completely out of sync with the blunt reality that the protesters (and the people by and large) are seeking firm action first and assurances later. So disconnected has the regime become from the aam aadmi that it has failed to comprehend the depth and degree of the latter’s outrage.
