BJP for deterrent laws, spl session
Death of the Delhi gang-rape victim has added to clamour for harsher punishment to rapists. Both the BJP and Congress have proposed chemical castration as one of the possible punishments. The BJP also mooted abolishing mercy petitions in rape cases and reiterated the demands for capital punishment and convening a special session of Parliament to enact related law.
