MIM leader faces condemnation over hate speech

Prominent social activists and intellectuals from across the country have strongly condemned the reported hate speech of Akbaruddin Owaisi, legislator of Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM). In a joint statement they described Owaisi’s speech at a public meeting in Nirmal town of Adilabad district as obnoxious. Owaisi is already facing a case in a local court in Hyderabad for the speech in which he allegedly threatened the Hindu majority and hurt its religious sentiments.
