It’s not a minor crime

It is good that there is growing consensus among various stakeholders including State Governments, the Centre and the police that the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2000, needs to be amended to ensure that minors who have been charged with heinous crimes do not escape lightly under the shield that this law provides.
