Hyderabad simmers as Congress puts off Telangana call

The Centre on Sunday sought a "little more time" to decide on the Telangana issue, hours before the one-month deadline set by Union home minister Sushilkumar Shinde was to come to an end. While Shinde, who had indicated a decision on statehood by January 28, sought more time, Congress general secretary Ghulam Nabi Azad, too, stressed on the need for further consultations with state leaders.
