Rebels’ letters accepted, Shettar govt on edge

The strength of the BJP government in Karnataka slipped from 118 to 105 on Tuesday after assembly Speaker K G Bopaiah accepted the resignation of 13 rebel party MLAs associated with former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa's breakaway Karnataka Janata Party. This effectively pushed the Jagadish Shettar government to the edge of its majority ahead of the February 4 budget session.
