Nervous JD(U) asks NDA to name PM candidate
The Janata Dal (United) has said that the National Democratic Alliance would benefit if it projects a prime ministerial candidate, after consulting all constituents, ahead of the next Lok Sabha polls, reflecting its unease over the demands for making Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi the nominee. A senior BJP leader, however, told ET that the party was in no hurry to make a formal announcement, mainly because of JD(U)'s stated position that it would pull out of the coalition if Modi were to be picked.
