Rape case haunts Cong and Kurien

The 1996 Suryanelli gang-rape victim's bid to reopen the case has created an awkward situation for the Congress ahead of the Budget session of Parliament. The victim, who had named Rajya Sabha deputy chairman P J Kurien as one of her tormenters 17 years ago, has reiterated her allegation in a letter written to Kerala chief minister Oommen Chandy.
