MGNREGS is nothing but a rip-off

Bipartisan observers have all along been of the opinion that the Congress-led UPA Government's much vaunted rural job programme, the Mahatma Gandhi Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, is inefficient and unfair, hamstrung by corrupt local officials, a wasteful project that would sap the Government's finances without the benefits adequately reaching the targeted segment.
