Economy in a tail-spin

With Government statisticians estimating India's GDP growth for the current fiscal year at a paltry five per cent, there is no looking away from the fact that the country's economy has hit rock bottom. The figure, put out on Thursday by the Central Statistics Office, is the lowest growth estimate seen in this past decade and is in effect testimony to the colossal financial mismanagement by the Congress-led UPA regime that has been at the helm for much of that period.
