IN 2005, the prime minister’s daughter got married. The event took place with the participation and blessings of the parents. Indeed, most of the Capital’s glitterati was not even aware of it, leave alone invited. Characteristic of his style, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh held his daughter Amrit’s wedding at a friend’s residence and instead of the hype attached to VIP events, this was a quiet family affair.
