Nariman quit because of pressure to go slow
Rohinton Nariman, the former Solicitor-General (SG) of India, resigned because there was pressure on him to go slow, or subvert the government's case against certain corporate houses, according to sources within the legal fraternity. Nariman, whose father Fali, is an attorney of impeccable repute, and who has ethics his father would be proud of, refused to cooperate in corrupt practices. The immediate reason was a tiff he had with Law Minister Ashwani Kumar last weekend.
