UPA must give Vajpayee his due

The manner in which the Congress-led UPA Government has spurned the BJP’s request to name the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojna after former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee reeks of the worst kind of partisan politics that there is. The nationwide scheme that aims to provide all-weather road connectivity to even the most remote Indian villages is the brainchild of Mr Vajpayee and was launched during his tenure back in 2000.
