Fix the accountability

On every occasion that the Opposition parties put the Congress-led UPA Government on the mat and hold it accountable for serious lapses in the security of the country, the regime appeals to its rivals not to “politicise” the issue. Hours after the terrible bomb blasts in Hyderabad on February 21, when it began to face flak for sitting on actionable intelligence which could have pre-empted the terrorist strike had it been acted upon, senior Ministers of the Government and leaders of the Congress resorted to simultaneously beseeching and berating those who questioned the failure of the Government’s machinery.
