Punjab Chief Minister and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Parkash Singh Badal has emerged as the frontrunner for the post of National Democratic Alliance (NDA) convener. The position fell vacant on Sunday after Sharad Yadav turned in his resignation after his party, Janata Dal (United), pulled out of the alliance.
