Historic opportunity in Bangladesh

The battle over Bangladesh's past has spilt violently into its present. Over 60 persons were killed in clashes after the sentencing of Delwar Hossain Sayedee, vice-president of Bangladesh's Jamaat-e-Islami party, found guilty of crimes during the 1971 war for independence. Hundreds of thousands are estimated to have been killed as Bangladesh tore away from Pakistan.
