Centre placates Nitish, shifts Bihar governor

The Centre has transferred Devanand Konwar out of Patna Raj Bhavan, in what is its third overture to Nitish Kumar, whom Congress sees as a potential ally. Konwar has swapped places with D Y Patil, who is Tripura Governor. According to sources, Nitish Kumar has sought Konwar's transfer following a tussle over running of universities and appointments of vice-chancellors.
