Take off the kid gloves

Stunned after the Italian Government reneged on its assurance to send back to India the two Italian marines who face murder charges here, spokespersons of the Congress and the UPA Government have been trying to pass the buck on the Supreme Court which allowed the accused to return to Italy for participating in an election. But what these spokespersons forget to add is that the prosecution had not even bothered to oppose the plea of the marines to return home, and that it went by a mere promise the Italian envoy to India gave to the effect that the marines would come back.
