Italian marine case: What options does Indian govt have?

Whilst the all-too-familiar political chest-beating and media posturing continues in full measure in the Italian marines case, few would hesitate to stick their necks out to predict where it would all end up—in a nice fat arch-lever file in the storage vault of the Ministry of External Affairs with perhaps copies strewn around in the Law Ministry.
