Bengal revises panchayat poll plan after governor intervenes

A solution to the panchayat poll deadlock seemed to appear on Tuesday as the Mamata Banerjee government agreed to revise the March 22 announcement and split up the two-phase polls into North Bengal and South Bengal instead of the earlier plan of 14 districts in the first phase and just three in the second.
