Gujarat: English schooling for Rs 11 in Muslim area

To arrest the dropout rate in its schools and impart quality education to underprivileged, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation will inaugurate its first English medium school on May 13. The Ahmedabad Public School is going to come up in Muslim-dominated Shahpur and is aimed at students from lower and middle income groups. It will charge a one-time registration fee of Rs 11.
