It's not like 1991. But 2013 will still be very critical

There is a frisson of worry about the current account deficit (CAD) - the most recent numbers came out last week. At 6.7% of GDP, the CAD looks dangerously high. Comparisons have been made to 1991. Those are wrong comparisons, of which more later.
