Broadening India’s 3G band

Broad banding a nation is an imperative today. In our country, this realisation came with the announcement of the Broadband Policy in 2004. However, this policy had a number of flaws. The most glaring of which was the fact that it largely relied on fixed line infrastructure, which, being limited, resulted in very slow growth of broadband. It was only in 2010, when 3G spectrum was auctioned, that signs of using wireless media for broadband services fructified.
