The foreign portfolio investors who have significant exposure to Indian stock markets are anxiously asking only one question these days: what sort of government will India have in 2014? Politics is uppermost in the minds of investors who have seen their dollar returns in the negative over the last 5 years. In recent times, I have interacted with a dozen long-term portfolio investors in India and Singapore who might have a total exposure of over $10 billion in the Indian markets.
