TN safe haven for Islamist terrorists

The arrests of three al-Umma activists from various places in Tamil Nadu in connection with the April 17 bomb blasts in Bangalore and the arrest of another an-Umma cadre from Tirunelveli following  Saturday’s attempt on the life of a BJP leader has sent shock waves all over the State. Even as Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa claimed in the Assembly on Tuesday that the crime rate in the State has come down since she took over the administration in May 2011, recent events point to an unpleasant truth; Tamil Nadu has become a safe haven for Islamic terrorists.
