Congress and BJP have to confront their 'Kumar-isms' to regain a balance of power

For a slow-moving summer's day, May 8 has been fairly monumental. It has left both national parties, the Congress and the BJP, pondering existential questions as they approach a long election year, culminating with the Lok Sabha contest in May 2014. To use convenient shorthand, it could be said that both parties face a Kumar problem. The BJP has an Ananth Kumar problem and the Congress an Ashwani Kumar problem.
