Railway minister’s nephew is director of Canara-HSBC JV

A day after it was revealed that Sunil Gupta, the family auditor of the firms owned by Bansals and Singlas, was made a director of the state-run Canara Bank by then minister of state for finance Pawan Kumar Bansal, it has come out that the minister's nephew Vikram Bansal was also made a nominee director of Canara-HSBC Oriental Bank of Commerce Life Insurance Limited, a joint venture.  He was made a director in August 2010 and given an extension in May 2011 for three years. The Canara Bank holds 51% stake in the joint venture where Vikram is a director.
