Why there is no point of ranking Indian universities

Every year, the Time Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings are published. In the 2012-13 rankings, no Indian university figures in the top-200, though universities from developing countries (including China) figure in that category. With university interpreted in a broad sense, IIT-Kharagpur is at ranks 226-250, IIT-Bombay is at ranks 251-275 and IIT-Roorkee is at ranks 351-400.
