No different from Left Front misrule
Two years is a good time to audit the delivery on promises by a Government elected for a five year term. The Trinamool Congress Government in West Bengal has crossed the two-year point and its performance has to be assessed in terms of its promise to deliver poriborton to the 1,57,41,720 voters who chose Mamata Banerjee as the new face of the State and rejected the 34-year CPI(M)-led Left Front regime. The promise of good governance and an end to ‘autocracy and atrocities’ was equally valid for the 1,03,26,180 voters who preferred the CPI(M) and its allies.
