Narendra Modi hits a sixer in match to become Prime Minister

Narendra Modi's status as BJP's likely face for the next Lok Sabha elections was cemented further on Wednesday as the party handily trounced Congress in a clutch of by-elections in Gujarat, the emphatic victory coming amid talk the last bastions of resistance within the party to him were crumbling. BJP wrested four assembly constituencies and two Lok Sabha seats from Congress in the by-elections, the results of which will help salve its wounds from the recent rout in the Karnataka assembly elections.
