Beaten in Bihar and national arena, Nitish takes two steps backward
After months of public posturing against Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi’s possible projection as the prime ministerial candidate of the BJP, and by default of the NDA, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has suddenly gone silent. He seems to have made a tactical retreat just when an actual elevation for Modi looks imminent. Faced as he is with the re-emergence of his other arch rival, Lalu Prasad Yadav, on the home ground, Kumar is on the back-foot.
